The Government has set out a range of standards for systems. Unfortunately, these standards are rarely met by some system suppliers. ilm Software takes the view that these standards are important as they enhance the quality of systems used by Local Government. We take steps to maintain our adherence to these sometimes fast moving guidelines and standards.

LLPG

The LLPG (Local Land and Property Gazetteer) is a database of properties that is held by all Local Authorities in the country. Collectively it forms the NLPG (National Land and Property Gazetteer). Sanctuary is able to make use of the LLPG so that all property information is current and accurate. Although use of the LLPG within Sanctuary is optional, if it is required we are able to work with one of our technology partners (Aligned Assets Limited)

w3c Accessibility

ilm Software is committed to supporting inclusive workforces. We have developed Sanctuary to meet the w3c's strict standards related to accessibility. These standards help to ensure that people can use the system regardless of disability. For more information on accessibility visit http://www.w3.org/WAI/

e-Gif Compliance

e-Gif or e-Government Interoperability Framework defines the technical policies and specifications governing information flows across government and the public sector. Our internal data lists make use of and extend this framework. For more information visit http://www.govtalk.gov.uk/interoperability/egif.asp

FOI (Freedom Of Information)

Our system contains a fully comprehensive audit trail of all actions within the system that is time stamped and audited against a system username. Deleted information can be retrieved by system users with sufficient privilege.

Security

Although there are no specific standards to follow, it is a reasonable assumption that systems secure their information. This is a requirement of the data protection act. In our experience not all system providers work rigorously enough to meet this assumed standard. Our product is built upon a secure and robust industry standard enterprise database. All database calls are managed to reduce the risk of intrusion. Using SQL Server in preference to databases such as MS access also provides significant performance benefits.
